Fashion Design Sewing Camp ✂️✨

Learn real sewing & fashion design skills while creating original garments. Campers are assigned a sewing machine, learn safety and basics, then design and sew projects using patterns or freestyle techniques.

Description

Fashion Design Sewing Camp ✂️✨

Fashion design is all about sewing—and this camp is where sketches come to life! We encourage full creativity while teaching real, hands-on sewing and design skills.

This camp runs Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–3:00 PM for a total of 30 hours of sewing fun!
Best for ages 10–18, (8years old if they have sewing experience with us in the past.) No experience necessary, and all materials are included.

This is our most popular camp, and we stay busy all day, every day! Below is a breakdown of what to expect during an unforgettable week of creativity.

What a Full Week Looks Like

Day One: Sewing Foundations & Design Planning

  • Campers are assigned a sewing machine to use all week
  • Full lesson on machine basics, threading, and safety
  • Start with a small project to build confidence
  • Set personal goals for the week
  • Create an optional vision board and sketch clothing ideas
  • Learn how to turn ideas into real, wearable designs

Once plans are set… LET THE FUN BEGIN! Whether designs are created from scratch or inspired by Pinterest, we’ll help bring them to life.

Days Two & Three: Skill Building & Project Creation

  • Continue working on projects and start new ones as others are completed
  • Learn essential sewing and design skills, including:
    • Zipper installation
    • altering to be a custom fit
    • Using patterns
    • Buttons and buttonholes
    • Hand sewing
    • Draping and other professional techniques
    • Learning shapes of clothing such as sleeves, bodices, pants and so much more!

Projects vary based on skill level and design depth (pattern vs. no-pattern), and we always aim for time-efficient methods while maintaining quality.

Days Four & Five: Project Runway Challenges

  • Participate in themed Project Runway–style challenges
  • Themes change weekly (examples: Recycled Fashion, Christmas in July)
  • Campers may choose to participate or continue working on personal projects

Friday Finale

Campers showcase their creations in a real runway experience.

Lunch & Important Notes 

  • Please bring a nut-free lunch and/or money for an optional walk to Dunkin’ Donuts
  • Due to a busy summer schedule:
    • No refunds or make-ups for missed days
    • You may reschedule to another week with 10 days’ notice, based on availability
