Our adult sewing classes run in 6-week sessions, meeting once a week for 2 hours, and are open to all skill levels. Classes are small (just 10 students) so everyone gets personalized instruction.

In your first class, you’ll learn how to use a sewing machine and start a reversible tote bag — all materials provided for your tote bag. After that, you’ll work on projects of your choice with guidance from our instructors.

Need flexibility? We also offer a Flex Option at $62 per class for those who can’t commit to a full session or want extra sewing time.

Occasionally we will post photos on our social media or use them for our website. Please let us know below if we have permission to take photos of the student.

Description

Adult Sewing Classes

Our adult sewing classes are offered in 6-week sessions, meeting once per week for two hours, for a total of 12 hours of instruction. Please note that fabric is not included with the cost of membership.

Classes are limited to 10 students to allow for individualized instruction. While you may select your preferred day and time when registering, availability is not guaranteed. We will do our best to place you in your requested class and will only contact you if that class is already full. Once registered, we expect students to attend the day and time selected. Class reminders are not sent, so we recommend marking your calendar.

Makeup classes are not offered unless a class is canceled by us. If scheduling flexibility is a concern, please review our Flex Option below. Students who choose to continue after completing a 6-week session will receive a returning-student discount, with details shared during class.

What to Expect

Our adult classes welcome students of all skill levels.

Your first class includes:

  • Learning how to use a sewing machine from start to finish

  • Beginning (and often completing) a reversible tote bag (fabric included for this)

If you have a sewing machine you’d like to learn on, you’re welcome to bring it to class.

At the end of your first class, we’ll talk through your goals for the next six weeks and guide you toward projects, fabrics, and materials that best fit your interests. For the remainder of the session, students will be responsible for bringing their own projects and fabric.

NEW Flex Option

We’re excited to offer a Flex Option for those who need a more adaptable schedule.

  • $62 per class

  • Choose your days and times based on availability during adult sewing classes

This option is perfect if you’d like to add extra class time, can’t commit to a full 6-week session, or have a friend who wants to join you for individual classes.

What Sets Us Apart

Unlike most sewing classes, ours are not project-based. Students have the freedom to work on projects of their choice (within their skill level). If you’re simply looking to learn the basics of sewing, we’re happy to offer ideas and guidance.
